Frost & Sullivan’s Recognizes seepex as 2004 Process Control Equipment Company of the Year

Miami, FL – May 20, 2004 – Frost & Sullivan presented the 2004 Process Control Equipment Company of the Year Award to seepex GmBH for its excellence in capturing market share and increasing sales in the positive displacement rotary progressive cavity pumps market at last night’s 2004 Excellence in Industrial Technologies Awards Banquet.

seepex GmBH’s recently restructured its distribution strategy, which handles global accounts directly. It offers aggressive training for distributors at three levels, covering basic product knowledge and applications, hands on experience, and the concept of providing complete solutions.

The company’s complete solutions are a superior value proposition, and the packaging, including training, advertising, and documentation, is designed to increase the level of trust and technical competence presented to buyers.

seepex’s unique public relations strategy focuses more on new product releases and case history articles than advertising. This has effectively captured niche markets that possess high margin sales, and a tangible way to direct distribution into these areas. It is also very selective on trade shows, avoiding the larger national shows in favor of smaller local or specialized shows.

Strong strategic alliances with large OEMs and end users have helped it dominate the market for chemical dilution skids in the paper industry and flocculant dilution skids.

Its product innovations help the company stay ahead of the competition. One such unique product is the new open hopper PC pump with a separate auger drive, with the auger rotating concentrically, a first for a PC pump. This pump has gained acceptance in biosolids handling and in the petroleum industry.

seepex’s global expansion strategy has garnered the company markets in Latin America and China. High future sales are expected in a variety of new applications, primarily in the pulp and paper, water and wastewater, and petroleum industries.

The company’s ability to develop high quality products has enabled it to build a supreme brand awareness development strategy, penetrate the North American positive displacement progressive cavity pumps market, and increase market share.

"Harsh economic conditions and increased competition notwithstanding, seepex has demonstrated its ability to maintain and expand its customer base and act as a benchmark for its competitors," says research analyst Achyuta Ghosh.

Frost & Sullivan present this award to the company that demonstrates outstanding management, consistent growth, and high quality products and services, as well as a positive impact on local and national communities. Exceptional customer service, coupled with the ability to combine technology and successful marketing, are also considered.

Held in Miami, the Frost & Sullivan banquet honored world-class companies for outstanding performance and achievements in industrial technologies. An annual event, the banquet recognized the quality and merit of distinguished individuals and companies.
